  Prior to storing our items in this facility, we read several reviews stating that this place was great and decided to go with Secure Self Storage in Orange Park at 200 Wells Road for our storage needs. What a mistake that was! Yes, they were very customer friendly when we chose them for our storage needs and rented our two units here. One climate controlled unit and one that was not. When we returned to remove our items from the climate controlled unit , we noticed the temperature was noticeably warm. We inquired as to why and were advised that the units are kept at a temperature of 80 degrees, which is hot, especially in Jacksonville’s sweltering heat. Upon removal of our items we noticed black mold spots all over our white leather furniture. Needless to say, we were very upset but figured we paid the extra for insurance so surely this would be covered. We notified the facility who advised that we should initiate a claim, which we did, only to be told by the third party insurance company that they recommended that mold/mildew is not covered. Now let’s move on to the second unit ( non climate controlled) . Upon entering that unit, we found rodent droppings and also found that our headboard had been damaged due to a water leak inside that unit. So , as instructed we initiated a claim on that as well . Only to be advised by the insurance company that they don’t cover damage or loss due to leaks or standing water. So, we are at a loss at this point for what is covered. We contacted Secure Self Storage to allow them an opportunity to make this situation whole and they of course stated they aren’t liable for damages that are incurred in their facility either. So needless to say after renting two facilities for 8 months, and paying insurance on both we are extremely disappointed that they nor the insurance company that they do business with have their customer’s best interest. If your are thinking of renting a space here, please think twice unless you like rodents leaving their droppings and chewing up your belongings or unless you like dealing with a place that doesn’t care about their customers!! Customer BEWARE!!!
